I've written my ninth (?) blog post for GDS, titled How we retired a web application to make GOV.UK simpler to run.

It's a technical subject written for a non-technical audience, so hopefully it should make sense whatever your background.

Mission patches are a way of celebrating success or a work milestone. They've been a GDS tradition from the start and have been produced for specific teams, achievements, anniversaries and general cultural reminders.

I've built up a little collection over the years and thought it was worth highlighting a few.

govuk-frontend 5.3 was recently released, containing a new Password Input component.

This is exciting news for two reasons. Firstly, because government websites now have a standard, tested and accessible way of allowing users to check their password inputs. And secondly, because I helped to build it.

In which I look both forwards and backwards.

I've co-authored a new blog post for GDS, titled How GOV.UK is upgrading to Google Analytics 4. Read on for a bit of background.

I've recently had another blog post published for GOV.UK, titled How and why we removed jQuery from GOV.UK. It was followed shortly by The impact of removing jQuery on our web performance, which relates to the same thing but written by Matt Hobbs (I was given co-author credit but all I did was review it).
