In the last few decades our world has increasingly run on software. Most of the time it's impossible to do anything - shopping, finance, communication - without software being involved somewhere, if not driving the entire process.

As a software developer I'm often asked for my thoughts on this, and my answer is always the same - I'm amazed it works at all.

Too often I encounter a website that either isn't clear, isn't helpful, or isn't working properly. Occasionally I get frustrated enough to try to understand why.

Reel Cinema have a reasonably good website, but for a few quite important problems.

Star Citizen looks amazing. It's also exactly the sort of game I enjoy playing. But I'm not playing it. Why not? Because of their website.
