It's been a while since I've done a 30 day challenge and this one is probably way overdue. I'm going to give up news for a month.

Why? Well, because it's depressing, that's why. Although that's an oversimplification.

I've never thought about it much before, but I suppose I have a bucket list, of sorts.

1. Visit New Zealand
2. Be able to say that I can't talk about my job, or I'll have to kill you
3. Write something and get it published

In a surprise development, I'm now able to tick off item three. I've written an article for popular PC gaming site, Rock Paper Shotgun.

This is an intended-to-be-humourous piece I wrote more than 4 years ago but never published anywhere. For my Dad, who is also on a Scottish island right now.

Just arrived! Boy, it sure is windy up here. Had to walk across the island for a couple of miles to get to the research centre. Really refreshing, I love this ocean air! Met Carol, who's been here for a year already. Nice person, but she's obviously been overdoing it. I think it'll do her good to get back to civilisation, plus I'm quite looking forward to being by myself out here. She leaves in a couple of days, which will be enough time for me to learn the ropes. Really excited, I probably won't be able to sleep tonight!
