After you've been unemployed for a while, your attitude towards certain things can change.

For example, a "hard day's work" slowly becomes shorter. Getting up in the morning can be difficult. Your attention span can reduce. No one seems to understand just how difficult it is to look for a new job. I spent like, an HOUR last week doing that. Isn't that enough for you people?!

Unfortunately, there's no secret and cunning way of overcoming this. You just have to try harder. Decide that you will get up and go to bed at specific times, and stick to that. Make a 'to do' list for each new day. Plan in specific leisure time. Appoint a friend to pester you about the things you're supposed to be doing. Find a job hunting buddy and challenge each other to see who can manage the most applications in a week. Delay treating yourself to certain things until you have achieved an objective. Uninstall Solitaire from your computer.

And so forth.
