So, this is cheating a little bit, but here's some sketches I did a little while ago. I was looking through some old sketch books looking for inspiration when I came across them. I'll start doing new drawings soon, promise...

I'm normally at a loss to explain where my inspiration comes from or what it's based on, but in this case I suspect the one below was inspired by an old Amiga game, which might possibly have been called Ninja Force, or something else equally cheesy, I can't remember. I do remember the game itself in surprising detail. Two players controlled robotic ninjas through multiple levels of side scrolling bad guys, with the occasional boss in a tank. What was cool about it was you could get shot up without losing health (to a point) resulting in a kind of damaged Terminator look. Pretty novel for the period.

So I've decided to start drawing again.

The reason being: I'm not very good. Admittedly, I'm probably better than some people, but I'm still way off the ability that I'd like to have. I used to be better, but I'm seriously out of practice.

So I've started putting this website together as a kind of official challenge to myself to actually keep this up, a kind of motivational aid. How well it'll work... well, we'll see.

Incidentally, the PHP and CSS of this site isn't quite as fantastic as I'd probably like, but the priority here is actually drawing stuff, so that's what I've been concentrating on. At some point I'll make it all shiny and visually stunning, but for now, simple and clean works.
