Departure
Wednesday 6th of January 2010
My redundancy was pretty amicable. Lots of people were sad to see me go, as was I. I'd made a lot of friends there over the years and I knew that I'd probably never see some of them again. I didn't know what I was going to do next, but I had a rough idea.
I just need to make a quick list of things I DON'T miss about my former job just in case I get too wistful here. Let's start with the bureaucracy. And the antiquated computer systems. And the new computer systems that were rubbish. The general trend of no one taking responsibility for anything, the corporate communications that bordered on pointless drivel, our generally meaningless corporate values, the blatant profiteering of the company by certain individuals... okay, that's probably enough. Note to self: never, ever, go back.
