Every now and again it's nice to get out of the city, so here we are taking advantage of the suddenly arrived spring to have a wander. Note to self: for future trips, use public transport.

Of course, once you've walked a few metres, it's a good idea to stop for lunch. Don't want to overdo it too quickly.

A nearby bridge. I like bridges.

No, really. Look at the internal structure of this arch. It's fascinating.

The route took us through the local church in the village of Mickleham.

Which featured this interesting gate.

Chris on a tree branch. Looking calm, relaxed, cool.

Me on a tree branch. Looking like a monkey.

After some route confusion and a lot of walking, we finally arrived at this spot, which was clearly where all the tourists were heading. Nice view though.

For example, we could see this. A man taking his cow and his dog for a walk.

Down the hill and back towards the village, crossing the river at some stepping stones.

Another angle on the stepping stones. The others crossed ahead of me and then a dog jumped in the water - and they thought it was me falling in.

And finally some interesting tree roots spotted on the way back. See, told you it was going to get nerdy.
