Jquery Flipclock plugin

Tuesday 24th of January 2017

I've built a plugin to simulate a flip clock, y'know, like they had back in the days before everything was digital. You can use it as a clock, a timer, or a countdown.

Here's some examples. First, clock mode.

Counting the time from a specified date/time, in this case from the start of the year 2000.

Counting the time until a specified date/time, in this case the year 2050:

The plugin relies upon moment.js and the readable range moment.js plugin, which are included in the repo.

Appearance is handled entirely with CSS (no images). Full details and options are included in my github as usual.

If you're interested in this plugin, you might also like my similar digital numbers plugin.

A missing feature - timezones

Recently it was pointed out to me that it was all very well making a plugin that did time and countdowns and whatnot but it wasn't necessarily accurate if you were in the wrong timezone. So I've added that feature - the plugin now has an optional parameter to specify the GMT offset, so your flipclock can be based on a chosen timezone.

The clock in the examples above should show the same time as your computer's current timezone. The clock below shows the current time in Moscow.
