Draft series plotlines for an exciting new medical drama series - Denver Emergency Casualty Ward Hope

Episode One

We are introduced to the show's characters, as they go about their hectic daily lives as doctors and nurses. There is a pileup on the local freeway, and lots of people with lots of hideous injuries are rushed to the hospital. Jack Nicolson guest stars as the bleeding sarcastic guy.

Episode Two

Doctor Hidewinde's mysterious past at the crematorium comes to light, when his ex-girlfriend turns up at the hospital with a severed kneecap. Alan the comedy desk guy breaks the computer and has to call maintenance. Jim Carrey guest stars as the man with severe haemorroids.

Episode Three

Despite temporarily losing the use of both ears in a freak yachting accident, Doctor Marlowe attempts to save the life of an elderly woman with disjointed shoulder blades and a septic bladder. Alan the comedy desk guy breaks the phone and has to call maintenance. Matthew Perry guest stars as the man with two broken arms, a severed tongue and chicken pox.

Episode Four

It's Christmas time, and Doctor Hidewinde is not enjoying the festive season, until the birth of an unlikely baby alters his outlook on things. Meanwhile, student doctor Paul Mucuse is discovering why you should book your holidays early in the hospital. Alan Alda guest stars as the old guy stuck in the Santa Claus outfit.

Episode Five

The hospital is virtually overrun by a troupe of ballet dancers suffering from food poisoning. Also, a mysterious smell in Doctor Hidewinde's office is finally traced to a discarded onion sandwich. And can student doctor Paul find romance with Nurse Belling? Jeremy Irons guest stars as third sick dancer on the left.

Episode Six

It's Christmas time again, and Doctor Hidewinde is still not enjoying the festive season, until he wins a trip to Hawaii. Unfortunately, his tickets are lost in the waiting room after a tense stand off between police and an armed suspect, who only came in to get his prescription. And can student doctor Paul find romance with Nurse Mary? Tim Taylor guest stars as the wisecracking road rage victim.

Episode Seven

Doctor Marlowe comes under fire from the hospital board over his controversial staff policies. Someone finally tells student doctor Paul about his breath problem. Alan the comedy desk guy breaks the front desk and has to call maintenance. Doctor Filltropally has family problems. Rodney Dangerfield guest stars as the frank person.

Episode Eight

It's Christmas time again, and Doctor Hidewinde is away from the hospital on personal business. Meanwhile, a former hospital security guard named Jeff has gone beserk and has kidnapped Doctor Marlowe and three nurses, and it's up to student doctor Paul to call the police. Doctor Filltropally has family problems. George Michael guest stars as the guy stuck in the toilet.

Episode Nine

Doctor MacPherson joins the hospital staff, and immediately begins to annoy everyone. Alan the comedy desk guy breaks his leg, and has to call maintenance. Doctor Hidewinde almost gets a date, but forgets about it. Tom Jones guest stars as the maintenance guy.

Episode Ten

An influenza epidemic has the hospital staff busy as ever, when Doctor Marlowe's father turns up unexpectedly. Meanwhile, student doctor Paul Mucuse witnesses a hit and run incident, and has to perform surgery in the street using only a collection of pens and a piece of cork. Doctor Filltropally has family problems. Sanda Bullock guest stars as the paranoid hypochondriac.

Episode Eleven

Alan the comedy desk guy faces a new challenge, when he is put in charge of the new radiology unit, but he breaks it and gets put back on the front desk. Doctor Hidewinde gets another date, but she turns out to be a Columbian drug baron. Doctor Marlowe has to explain to an old woman that she has fourteen minutes to live. Bill Gates guest stars as the guy stuck in the lift with the pathological killer.

Episode Twelve

It's Christmas time again, and Doctor Hidewinde gets a date, finds his tickets to Hawaii, and manages to overcome his fear of water. Unfortunately the whole episode turns out to be a dream. Steve Guttenberg guest stars as the voice of the suppository.

Episode Thirteen

Student doctor Paul Mucuse is finally recognised for what he is - a spoilt brat with no medical talent whatsoever - and he is confined to mop duty. Meanwhile, Alan the comedy desk guy has been replaced by Gina, the hot Brazilian chick, who starts her day by accidentally crashing the hospital computer network. In the confusion, several diahorrea sufferers are given laxatives, with hilarious results! Doctor Filltropally has family problems. Frank Oz guest stars as the miserable guy.

Episode Fourteen

The hospital is forced to close after it is revealed that there is no more money for funding. Student doctor Paul Mucuse tries it on with Gina, but is immediately rejected. Doctor Hidewinde is crushed by a falling light fitting. Finally, Alan the comedy desk guy returns to fiddle the expense forms, but will it be enough to keep the hospital open? Sean Connery guest stars as the skeptical accountant.

Episode Fifteen

In the explosive season one finale, we discover the fate of the hospital, and also Doctor Hidewinde, who has suffered severe concussion from the falling light fitting incident and cannot remember how to use his feet. Student doctor Paul Mucuse faces a tough decision over his future, and makes the wrong one. Alan the comedy desk guy leaves to star in his own sitcom. Doctor MacPherson gets a whole five minutes of the episode to have a storyline in. Doctor Filltropally resolves her family problems, then develops a severe allergy to human hair. Doctor Marlowe considers establishing a farm devoted to peace and harmony in the middle of Arizona. Finally, we are left with a horrible cliffhanger: will the hospital staff ever discover the identity of the mysterious stranger responsible for leaving the slight mess in the canteen? Dean Cain guest stars as the guy who gets punched repeatedly in the face.
